Up Beet Jams is owned and operated by Jam Rohr, a Peoria Illinois native. She transitioned to a whole food plant-based diet in 2019 in an attempt to ease the pain symptoms she was experiencing for nearly a year. Since then, she has mastered various cooking techniques to prepare unique and ever-changing vegan meals. She has done extensive research to learn the specific benefits of a whole food plant-based diet and how it can serve as medicine to help aid in reducing pain, acne, eczema, the risk of heart disease, the risk of cancer, and more. She wanted to make the option to eat a whole food plant-based diet more approachable and accessible to the public. 

Jam is also a sculptor who also owns Black Dog Metal Arts with her husband, Danny Rohr. After moving back to Peoria in 2018 she wanted to work closely with the community and find ways to empower and enrich the lives of those who live in the region.
